Denny John - Personal Statement

I am an Evidence Synthesis Specialist for the Campbell Collaboration based at the Global Development Network, New Delhi, India. My research interests cover Evidence Synthesis, Economic Evaluation, Health Technology Assessment, Infectious disease epidemiology/modelling, Health Financing in Developing Countries, Health Services Research and Implementation Research.

I have been involved with conducting economic evaluation studies since 2012, including systematic reviews involving economic evaluation methods. I am a co-author of the first proposed 'Pharmacoeconomic and Outcomes Research Guidelines for India'. I have experience of conducting cost-effectiveness analysis studies in India and Nigeria, and also teaching experience on the topic for Masters students across several eminent institutes in India.

I am member of Cochrane and Campbell Economic Methods Group (CCEMG), and currently focus on incorporating economic methods in social programs at the Campbell Collaboration. I am Chair-Elect (2015-17) of the ISPOR Asia Young Professionals Group and Associate Editor of The International Journal of Technology Assessment in Health Care (IJTAHC). With this experience, I feel that I am well-placed to provide input to the Cochrane Council of the appropriate and scientific methods in the area of economic evaluation methods in the context of India and similar developing countries.
