Yemisi Takwoingi

I am currently a Senior Research Fellow in Biostatistics at the Institute of Applied Health Research, University of Birmingham, in the UK. I am a member of the Methods Board with experience of various roles in Cochrane. I have co-convened the Screening and Diagnostic Tests Methods Group (SDTMG) since 2012, and I am a co-author of the analysis chapter of the Cochrane Handbook for Diagnostic Test Accuracy Reviews. In addition to organising Cochrane training events, I have developed resources for Cochrane reviewers and methodologists such as online distance learning modules, tutorials and software programs. I have also written statistical algorithms for RevMan. I was a member of the Cochrane RevMan Advisory Group (2009–2014).

I continue to assist the Information and Knowledge Management Department with RevMan queries and development related to diagnostic test accuracy (DTA) reviews. I was a member of the Cochrane Diagnostic Test Accuracy Working Group (2008–2014), the group responsible for the development and implementation of DTA reviews within Cochrane. Responsibilities of the Working Group were taken over by the SDTMG in 2014. I am also a member of the Cochrane Statistical Methods Group (2008–).

As Chair of the Thomas Chalmers Award Committee from 2012–2015, I worked with several convenors of Methods Groups. I believe I can best represent the interests of the Methods community through dialogue and collaboration, drawing on my broad experience of being a methodologist, Cochrane author (33 Cochrane reviews across 9 CRGs), and editor within 2 CRGs. I also have interactions with the Cochrane Editorial Unit, especially on issues related to updating systematic reviews. My broad experience will ensure effective promotion of matters of importance to Methods Groups within the appropriate context, whilst appreciating the wider impact on Cochrane.
