Cochrane Methods GRADEing
The Cochrane GRADEing group (formerly known as the Applicability and Recommendations Methods Group – ARMG) is comprised of individuals with interest and expertise in the interpretation, applicability and transferability of the results of systematic reviews to individuals and groups. The Cochrane GRADEing group is one of seventeen methods groups within Cochrane.
The goal of the Cochrane GRADEing is to develop approaches, strategies and guidance that facilitate the uptake of information from Cochrane Reviews and their use by a wide audience with specific focus on developers of recommendations and on healthcare decision makers. Our projects focus on assessing and presenting summaries of evidence, especially on Summary of Findings (SoF) tables and Plain Language Summaries.
New Guidance
- Improving GRADE evidence tables part 1: a randomized trial shows improved understanding of content in summary of findings tables with a new format
- Improving GRADE evidence tables part 2: a systematic survey of explanatory notes shows more guidance is needed
- Improving GRADE evidence tables part 3: detailed guidance for explanatory footnotes supports creating and understanding GRADE certainty in the evidence judgments
