Each year, all 17 Cochrane Methods Groups prepare an Annual Report to record their main developments and achievements. This year, we are putting the Methods Groups and their contributions in the spotlight.
Today, it's Information Retrieval. The Information Retrieval Methods Group believes a broad and sensitive literature search to retrieve the maximum number of relevant published and unpublished studies is a crucial component of an unbiased systematic review. The Group therefore provides advice and support, conducts research and facilitates information exchange regarding information retrieval activities within Cochrane, and monitors the quality of searching techniques employed in systematic reviews.
