In the spotlight: Information Retrieval Methods Group

Posted on 10 November 2021 by Ella Flemyng (Methods Implementation Manager)

We are celebrating the achievements of Cochrane’s Methods Groups from the last year. Today we are putting Information Retrieval Methods Group in the spotlight.

The Information Retrieval Methods Group believes that a thorough, objective and reproducible search of a range of sources, to identify as many eligible studies as possible, is a crucial component of an unbiased systematic review. The Group therefore provides advice and support, conducts research and facilitates information exchange regarding information retrieval activities within Cochrane, and monitors the quality of searching techniques employed in systematic reviews.
