Cochrane Methods is pleased to welcome Evan Mayo-Wilson to the Cochrane Methods Executive!
Evan is associate convenor of the Cochrane Adverse Effects Methods Group and Associate Professor of Epidemiology at the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health. His research focuses on improving methods for systematic reviews, including methods to increase research transparency and openness. He has examined the consequences of multiple outcomes for systematic reviews, particularly multiple and inconsistent methods for reporting and synthesising harms.
Evan is also a member of the PRISMA Executive, and he has contributed to multiple guidelines for reporting systematic reviews and clinical trials, including PRISMA 2020, PRISMA COSMIN, CONSORT SPI, CONSORT Harms, CONSORT Outcomes, SPIRIT Outcomes, and the American Psychological Association’s Journal Articles Reporting Standards (JARS). He is the Scientific Director for peer review of PCORI Research Reports, contracted by Origin Editorial, and Associate Editor for Systematic Reviews for the American Journal of Public Health.
There were two open positions on the Methods Executive. Su Golder (Adverse Effects) will rotate off at the end of 2024, and Karl Moons (Prognosis) has kindly agreed to extend his service until 2025. Evan Mayo-Wilson will join the team next September 2024. Details on the Methods Executive and membership can be found here.
Please join us in welcoming Evan to the Methods Executive and thanking Su Golder for her valuable contributions over the years.
