Share Your Experience Applying the GRADE Health Equity Guidance

The GRADE guidance for considering health equity in the Evidence-to-Decision (EtD) process is intended to support explicit, evidence-informed and transparent consideration of health equity when developing recommendations.

How the guidance is applied may vary across guideline topics, settings, populations, organizations and available resources. Experience with its use can help identify what works well, where challenges arise, how the approach is adapted to different contexts, and where further methodological development or practical support may be needed.

The GRADE Equity Methods Group invites guideline developers, researchers, patient and public partners, decision-makers and others who have used or considered using the guidance to share their experiences.

What we would like to learn

We are particularly interested in:

• how the health equity guidance was used in practice;
• which parts of the approach were most or least useful;
• challenges encountered when identifying, retrieving, assessing or using equity-relevant evidence;
• adaptations made to suit particular guideline, organizational or local contexts;
• methods or perspectives that could strengthen the approach;
• evidence or methodological gaps encountered during application; and
• suggestions for improving the guidance, tools or supporting resources.

Experiences are welcome whether the guidance was applied comprehensively or only to selected aspects of the EtD process. We are also interested in situations where users considered applying the guidance but found that it was not feasible or appropriate.

Why share your experience?

Understanding how the guidance performs in practice can help inform future refinements, identify implementation needs and examples, and highlight priorities for methodological research. Sharing experiences can also help build a broader community of practice around systematic and transparent consideration of health equity in guideline development.
